New Build Bowtop

A car towable gypsy bow top caravan built 9 months ago on a reconditioned twin axled car trailer with new tyres, bearings and  braking system. It weighs 680kg, so is easily towable by a mid range car up and above legal towing speeds.

It measures 10x6x6ft  inside, with a double bed at the bow in rear, cupboard, gas cooker and 12 volt lighting system. It is well ventilated for gas heating  and is totally 'allububbled' insulated and has a newly sealed
tarp'. It is built of treated piranah pine and a poplar tunnel.

It  is a very comfortable, extremely strong and stable wagon on the  road. It has been professionally wagon painted with a wonderful romany design. It is certainly a very remarkable alternative to a conventional caravan.

Openlot

Openlot waggon in excellent condition inside and out.

Professionally built and painted on a 7ft 6" x 4ft 6" dray, it is approx 8ft high so is not full size, it's about 3/4 size.

The dray is all fiddle-headed and has bull-nosed wheels on iron tyres.

The  top has everything it should have - cupboards, table, pull out bed, mirrored doors under bed.

The paint work is very good, gold gilt everywhere inside and out. The waggon is like new and looks as good if not better than most full-size waggons.

It went from the North East to Appleby and back by road in 2009. Can be pulled by a pony, it is that light.

No time wasters, genuine buyers only. You know what they cost to get built and painted as well as how long it takes to get done.

Comes with steps and shafts

Bristol Waggon

Perfect for those summer nights, it sleeps two people comfortably (originally used by a family of 4)

This Burton Gypsy Caravan is truly an original. Privately owned for 80 years, before our purchase from Romany Gypsies. This special piece of craftmanship built on the turn of the 19/20th century is a real step back in time.

This caravan contains many original features including a working cast iron stove/oven, wash basin area/vanity unit, two mirrors with engravings, brass features, full length cupboard and plenty of storage space. Work would be needed before taking it on the road with a horse.

Howcroft Showmans Wagon

Circa 1882, this magnificent wagon is one of two originally built by Howcroft of West Hartlepool for Bartlett's Steam Fair, a New Forest-based showman family. Pulled originally by a Burrell steam engine Philadelphia, the wagon was purchased in the late 1940s by the New Forest artist Eryl Vize, from whose daughter I purchased it. The famous book 'Wanderers of the New Forest' by Juliette de Bairacli-Levy was partly written in it.

Restored but almost entirely original, it has a bed chamber (6ft 6" long and 4ft 6" wide), with a living area of 8ft 4" long and 6ft 6" wide. Its mollicroft roof is above the unusually preserved arched rails.

Overall dimensions are:
Height  11ft 6"
Length  15ft
Width     6ft 9"

The fire place has the original stove enamel design with mahogany surround and an etched mirror above. Fitted cupboards are all original and have shelving inside. Also included are a chest of drawers, a plate rack and two trunks, along with two shield coach lamps and brackets.

The inside is stripped wood and ready for your own imagination...
