A lovely example of an original Burton-style Showman built by William Wheeler of Guildford, Surrey, who was an early & noted coach builder listed in the town's directory from 1900 to WWI.

Fabulous carvings and beautifully carved porch-brackets typical of Wheeler adorn the body.

Would make an ideal spare room, glamping, work space. Very comfortable, and rolls nicely.

Bowtop Wagon

Good sized doors and windows waggon on
 9ft x 5ft dray in great condition.

Nice swan neck shafts, nicely shaped swooped steps, good sized bed spot, (6ft 6 inch x 2ft 4inch closed and  6'6" x 4ft  when fully pulled out),
good wheels and springs, opening back sash window, good sheet, pan box, two drawers under the bed spot with two cupboards under them, nicely painted no rot anywhere.

There is no stove but I have a queenie stove which can be purchased and fitted by me if buyer requires. Delivery is a possibility.

Yorkshire Build
Barrel Top Gypsy Car
Circa 1920s

This Yorkshire Barrel Top Wagon was built in Hartlepool, by T. Smith, a well known North Country Wagon Builder in the 1920s.

The Yorkshire Barrel-Top was built of a light build so it was able to be pulled by one horse over hilly roads and they were able to cover long distances in a day.  This type of wagon was mainly used by Horse Dealers and Produce Pickers who travelled from one County to another as a means of earning a living.

In excellent condition, this wagon includes shafts, steps, original hay box, hen coop and external storage box.  Inside, the wagon is beautifully decorated and fitted with a double bed with storage underneath, storage cupboards, padded bench and the original ‘queenie’ stove.

Vintage Leisure Caravan
Built Circa late 1920s -1930s

Pre WWII motor drawn leisure caravan, circa late 1920s / 1930s, now available as a
restoration project. In remarkable condition for its age having been dry stored & untouched for over 50 years by it's 2 previous owners. Paper evidence associated with the van indicates it was used by Romany travellers in 1961 in the hop picking fields of Kent.


Original Bowtop Waggon

Original 1920s dray and wheels, bed pulls out to double. 240V electrical package with consumer unit. Beautifully painted murial on interior.

Overall very good condition, roof needs a little attention to bottom of one edge in corner as fraying. No leaks.



Road Roller Living Van
Circa 1928

Built by Barnes Brothers of Southwick, with markings/stamps dating back to 1928.

Original wheels and fittings plus later refurbishments. Good internally, with bunk beds, stove, cupboards, etc. Exterior would benefit from further restoration.



Bowtop Waggon

In good condition, requiring some cosmetic attention. Features a wood stove, gas cooker, kettlebox, steps and shafts. Internally, this waggon has several areas of well preserved artwork.

A real Gypsy Vardo. Door and window wagon, built by the best Jowetts of Lancashire and painted by John Greenwood (YORKIE).

This wagon is well known here in County Durham and associated with the Lee family. It is carved inside and out with birds, fruit and vines. It has too many extras to mention. Anybody wanting a real good wagon this is it. This wagon has appeared in many books and DVDs over the years. It is featured in the book 'The Gypsies Then and Now' by John McKale. Justice Eve's Caravan

This is a rare opportunity to acquire Justice Eve's (Sir Harry Trelawyn Eve) 1906 Jones of Summertown, Oxford, reading-style caravan with full provenance.

It has featured in many articles over the years and is well documented. Restored over last 3 years. New set of wheels on original iron tyres.
All other features original, original Queenie stove.

This was a gentleman's caravan built for one of the pioneer caravanners without sporting the bling associated with Gypsy wagons.

Bowtop Wagon (built by Tommy Gaskin c.1945)

Large bowtop wagon for sale.  Built post War by Tommy Gaskin.

The interior has an original Smith and Wellstood Queen Anne Stove, but very unusually this is a Queen No. 7 and is slightly larger that most Gypsy stoves. The inside is grained in light oak and mahogany, and painted in the style of the builder (Tommy Gaskin).
